Guest Book
Very centrally located if your work is in this part of Koramangla. All food places, coffee shops, shopping and window gazing world is all all within comfortable distance. Yet the Apartments are tucked away in a lane behind the main road- so gives you a respite from the madding traffic and chaos of Bangalore!
The first night was terrible- as we had no ac, no power, no back up! But the next few days were good as there was no break in power. Very helpful staff ever smiling and accommodating.
We lived in a 2-Bedroom apartment which came along with a kitchen and a living area- which was roomy and bright. Did not feel suffocated being closeted in one room!
This section of Koramagala has developed nicely transforming into food and shopping street. my partner and I enjoyed the relative quiet the D Habitat street offers. Free internet and room service were pleasant surprises. overall we left Bangalore with pleasant memories thanks mainly to the comforts offered by D Habitat.
I recommend take up the place if available on your preferred date.
We stayed for almost a week in the 3 bedroom apartment. rooms and living rooms are nice and quite spacious. Two rooms with bathrooms attached. satisfied with the apartment overall except that there isnt any dressing table and lacking in dining chairs. An assistant was assigned to us to cater to our needs like if we need spare towels, asking for directions etc - interesting!
Location wise, its close to shopping centres and the auto car ( like the tut tut in Thailand) is easily accessible. with the auto cars, if they give you a flat rate to a distination, you can bargain or insist that you want the meter running.
D'Habitat was by far one of the best Service Apartments that I have stayed in Bangalore.
Besides the usual good customer service, cleanliness of the apartment and the price range, what really stood out was the extra bit that D'Habitat provided. And this was when they would come to the kitchen in the apartment and cook breakfast for you and serve you as well. The food was yum, the apartment was great and with a sit out on the terrace, I couldn't have asked for more.
Thanks D'Habitat.. It was truly value for money..
Our stay at the apartment lasted for 2 weeks, from 1 Aug 2012 to 13 Aug 2012, we arrived at 10:20 pm from a three and a half hour flight from Dubai and didn’t have the energy to go food hunting for dinner but to my surprise the apartment also came with a fully equipped kitchen which resulted in us trying to cook our own 'home made' meal! The suite which I booked came along with a mini-bar (without the liquor) and a fully stocked fridge filled with bits and bobs for daily consumption.
One of the first things is noticed was the traditional French architecture of D habitat. The rooms were well maintained. The staff were ever prompt at their service and offered a helping hand whenever required. Every morning we would get a phone call at precisely 7:30am (which was also our wakeup call) when our chef asked us what we would like for breakfast, and tried to prepare whatever we felt like eating to the best of his abilities. D habitat's main mark was its location. With the apartment situated in a quaint quite residential street while being in the middle of a commercial arcadia added to the unique character of D habitat!
The next day after our arrival we thought of visiting Cubbon Park which was around 5 km (approx), and since it was listed in the top 10 tourist sites to visit in Bangalore, I thought ‘why not?’ and might I add, It did not disappoint! Cubbonpark was immense! With a huge jogging track and a massive play ground for children. The outing to Cubbonpark took us half a day to complete. The second half was spent in ‘The LalBagh Botanical Garden’ filled with exotic plants and greenery, a perfect opportunity to click a picture or two.
D- Habitat was right in the middle of some of the best 'eat outs' in Bangalore city. So many such that you would receive a little taste of home no matter where you’re from. My personal favorite was 'Cafe' Pascussi' serving authentic Italian cuisine and 'The Sahib Sind Sultan' which offered north Indian exquisiteness!
New and upcoming malls such as "Oasis" and "The Forum" malls fit for shopaholics were within walking distance which made our 2 week visit all the more pleasant and entertaining.
Other attractions included the nearby 'Inidranagar' that we visited which proved to be a foodie's Promised Land and a shopper's Eden. Four km away was Bangalore's famous MG road and Brigade road which was the manager's first suggestion, these streets were packed with tourists and city folk from almost all parts of India! MG road was filled with stores, stalls, restaurants and mainly happening clubs and pubs for city night dwellers.
However, some of the disappointments of D habitat were that, even thou the staff had the best intentions of providing a quality service, they were uncommunicative which resulted in confusions a few times, taking the instance where there was a confusion in providing me directions to a nearby vegetable market - needless to say, its the little things like this that makes or breaks a good trip.
D habitat spells true value for money! With its large living space and great service offered, keeping the price range in mind - was truly a 'no brainer' for my choice! I would surely recomend this to any fellow traveller looking for a pleasant, enjoyable, hassle free trip!
Imagine staying in the heart of the city's thriving Central Business District where everything you need is within comfortable reach. D-Habitat Serviced apartment, Bangalore, that brilliantly combines the conveniences of city living and excellent service under one roof. D-Habitat is just one of many serviced apartment in Bangalore that excels in providing the savvy traveller with a well facilitated environment when away from home.
These serviced apartments were clean, large and the staff provided an excellent service for us. The flats are also relatively reasonably priced considering how nice they are. You will get more of an authentic Indian experience staying here than if you stay in a resort hotel. Highly recommended. The only slight criticism I have is that the pressure in the shower wasn't great.

United Kingdom
We travelled to India from Canada, a family of six,Our youngest are 13 and 15. We stayed in the three bedroom apartment with D'Habitat Hotel Apartments twice, for two nights after our arrival and for one night, once back in Bangalore just prior to our long journey home.
The apartment was very spacious, with two floors, a deck on the roof, and a functional living room and kitchen on the main floor. Air, hot water, shower, all worked well. Each room did have a TV, though we had no real interest in television.
If you have not travelled to india, this is not a luxury hotel. What it does have is some space, and some character. It also has a washer and you can hang clothes on a line on the sun deck roof fyi (now that I remember).
The apartments are well located near some very nice restaurants, including a Pizza Hut (look for the Pizza Hut when you are searching for the location) and eat there if you are looking for a little taste of home.
There is also an internet cafe nearby, but don't try to find it without asking Girish N..the manager of D'habitat Apartments. We ultimately did and Girish had someone walk us there, which was very helpful of him. There is also a walking park nearby, fenced in, as is the style within some cities in India, where you can walk around a track, within a fenced in area of trees, gardens and shrubs.
What makes a real difference in this kind of hotel is the space, the amenities and the people. Girish N. does a great job managing the units. He is very helpful and kind. If you have any issues he will try to work through the issues with you. I accidentally left my travel journal in the apartment when we flew back to Canada, and after contacting Girish, he had it sent to me and refused any payment to cover the cost of mailing. This was a very kind gesture.
Our apartment included the services of a morning cook - who arrived at a designated time. His name was/is Shivakumar. A more gentle soul you will not meet. He did his utmost to bring in some choice food and cook it for our breakfast. He would stay for an hour or two cleaning up afterwards. Shivakumar did his utmost to satisfy with his cooking and his gentle and kind attitude provided a sense of welcome for our family that would have been missing in a less hospitable environment.
If your ok with not being completely pampered by modern furniture and finishes, then this hotel is a fantastic choice. I went for numerous walks, and you can see some very interesting sights wherever you are in India.
I read the poor rating below. The complaints seem to be far more closely connected to what one can expect when in India as opposed to the characteristics of a particular hotel.
Enjoy and don't be afraid to choose this hotel as your choice.
PS. If you have hired a driver, there are no driver rooms in many smaller hotels or homestays.
All the best from Canada.
Stuart
Stayed January, travelled with family
I stayed there for three nights in the first week of September and took a suite for myself and my daughter who is studying at Bangalore . It included our own living room and kitchen and we were really happy to have the place all by ourselves . The staff were warm and friendly and the lacation is absolutely fantastic . Within walking distance you can indulge in any kind of food you want whether it is Continental.Chinese or Pizzas or even you have late night snack . Definitely recoomended for families who would like to expereince their home away from home .
Room Tip: If possible go for the first floor rooms -the two bedroomed apartment is really nice for four adults...
Trying to find a place to stay on short notice this time of year is not easy. I happened into d'habitat and was surprised. Clean, no bugs, EXCELLENT wi-fi included in price. Fairly quiet area, but there is some street noise. Not as bad tho as the $300/night hotels off of MG road where the noise starts before sunup. OK, it doesn't have a gym or fancy restaurant. Big whup. Had a great meal at Maharaja Multi Cuisine nearby. Girish of d'habitat can give you the address.
Liked — clean, great value, great wi-fi
Disliked — street noise-hey its India, what do you expect?
The title of my review says it all. Very competent, courteous, efficient, and reliable service from the hotel staff.
Very nice apartments, with individually air conditioned bedrooms, nice living/dinning room, clean bathroom with western-style flush and electric water heater, and kitchen with gas stove and refrigerator (utensils provided, but ask for a fuller set, if needed).
It is a pleasure to interact with the manager (Girish). Very good WiFi Internet connection. Excellent car-and-driver service provided by the hotel at a very reasonable cost. Excellent and reliable airport pick-up and drop-off service at very reasonable cost (highly recommended).
Guard on duty 24 hours of the day, seven days of the week. It is not a hostel for backpackers. If you are a relatively well-to-do person on a business or pleasure trip, alone or with family, this is an excellent serviced apartment hotel, in a very nice residential area of Koramangala. Very good restaurants and shops within 5-10 minutes walking distance, and the excellent Koramangal Mall is about 20-30 minutes walk from the hotel (or take an autorickshaw there). Overall, this hotel is an excellent value. I have stayed at this hotel on my last two trips to Bangalore, ad plan to stay there again on my next trip to this city.
Yet another trip to Bangalore.....this time it was even better, new airport, express way, nice, landed early hour's at D-Habitat on 04th May, Girish (Manager) was waiting to receive me, staff remembered me being there last year with family, it was a hearty welcome, but this time it was me alone......found bit changes taken place, new furnitures, paintings and some new staff's as well, the property is very clean and tidy , the service standard is very good tried Indian cuisine at the near by restaurants, oh boy it was delicious (bit spicy tooooooooooo). Had no problem during my stay at D-Habitat, felt like Home away from Home.
Pick-up @ airport, spacious rooms with a/c, breakfast delivered to your room (with the option for them to make it or yourself), clean and tastefully decorated rooms make this a nice experience for families or groups! Staff was always friendly, clean and helpful. About a 30-45 min. drive from airport.
My wife and I ended up at the D Habitat when our friends failed to meet us at the airport and had to take a private taxi. Since we checked in late night, only the security and the room boys were there to receive us. We found very difficult to communicate with them but upon checking in we were pleased to find a well furnished air conditioned room, TV with CNN channel. We found the proximity of the apartment to near by malls - Oasis and The forum a pleasant situation.
